The Arizona State Flower…The Saguaro Cactus Blossum

Paula McDonald of Woodlands, TX inspired this post with her recent blog about the Texas Bluebonnet, her state flower. I thought I would share our little flower with Active Rain readers.

This is the actual flower.

Jon, the Saguaro Cactus is a magnificent plant to be sure - and its delicate blossom is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Jon-  We really love the Saguaro Cacti and wish they grew in the Albuquerque area.  When in Arizona area we take countless photos and absorb the silent beauty of the Saguaro.  Great photos my friend!

Many years ago, I went on a trip where we did the jeep rally through the desert and found huge --- I mean, monstrous -- Saguaro. Thanks for showing the beautiful flowers they yield. All I can think of at that time is how much dust I was swallowing and how car sick I was getting so I couldn't really admire the scenery.
